A revolutionary approach

Nearly every organization understands the many benefits a good mentoring program can provide. All too often, though, those good intentions fail to materialize. Mentoring falls to the bottom of the priority list, because managers and staff get too busy or they aren't really sure how to go about the mentoring process.

There is a better way.

Kirby Consulting Group's Collaborative Mentoring System is based on creating mentoring teams of three mentors and twelve mentees that participate in a structured collaborative development program for one year.  The Collaborative Mentoring System can be set up across organizations through a Collaborative Mentoring Network, or within a single organization.  The Collaborative Mentoring System provides many benefits, whether applied internally or through a network of partnering organizations:

Mentors share the responsibility of working with a group of mentees

  • Mentees enjoy access to three different mentors at the same time, and if done in a Mentoring Network, get to interact and share experiences with mentors and peers from other organizations
  • The program is structured and requires minimal preparation time for busy mentors outside of the regularly scheduled meetings
  • We provide a structured framework that helps set up the teams, prepare the mentors and mentees, and plan and conduct the meetings to accomplish specific developmental goals.  We provide training for the mentors, help get the teams started and functioning, and provide support to the mentors throughout the program. 

As a result of this revolutionary approach, participants benefit from interacting with a diverse group of mentors and mentees with broad experience. And because roles and expectations are clearly defined, members of mentoring teams receive benefits right away.
